As RACE's season kicked off tonight in Lakewood at the Foothills Fall Open, many of the swimmer's thoughts were elsewhere. One of our own, Dane Fogdall was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and he started Chemotherapy today. Dane was at practice briefly yesterday and wanted nothing more but to get in the water. Soon he will be able to swim some during his treatment, but not for a while.
I and the team send our best to Dane and just want to let him know we miss his heart and excitement at the pool. Keep track of Dane's progress here. http://danefogdall.wordpress.com/
Back to the meet. A good start to the season tonight with strong swims in the 200 IM and the 500 free from a lot of the team. Great early season times from my guys and lifetime bests left and right from JD's group. He has been tearing it up with those guys.
Back at it tomorrow.
