Apex Coaching

As you know Neal Henderson and I have joined forces as we go into 2011 and Apex Coaching is stronger than ever. Apex will be supporting many teams and athletes this season as they work to reach their goals.

The Breeze Bars U-25 Professional Triathlon Team is the brainchild of Neal and myself. The goal of the team is to help young, up and coming triathletes move to the highest level of the sport. We hope to mentor young athletes race well, secure and enhance their relations with sponsors and reach their goals in their sport. We hope the unique situation that Boulder provides (University of Colorado, ultimate training climate, etc) will attract the finest developing young triathletes to the Breeze Bars Tri Team. Check out the January 5th Team Presentation at BCSM at 2 PM.

The Apex Coaching professional group includes some of the finest cyclists, triathletes and swimmers in the world. Athletes like Taylor Phinney, Cameron Dye, Christine Jennings and Cari Higgins are part of the Apex stable. The Wednesday rides are among the most talent rich get togethers you have ever seen with myself and Neal hanging on for dear life. The Tuesday track sessions take advantage of a group setting with the coaching staff track side offering guidance. New in 2011 are the Apex group swim sessions at Rally. Wednesday and Friday morning see some of the finest swimmers in triathlon hammering out the yards.

Apex is lucky to have some of the finest support in the world from our partners. Boulder Center for Sports Medicine is our go-to testing and sports medicine facility. From LT and Vo2 max testing to help you reach your goals, to the finest in gait analysis and bike fits, to all you rehabilitation needs, BCSM is the place in Colorado and in the nation. I ride their cross bike as well and Apex athletes receive a discount so they can enjoy the Carroll speed as well. First Endurance has been with Neal and I since the beginning. We have known Robert Kunz since he began the company and we cannot speak more highly of his products. Mix 1 is on board as well offering a great protein shake for both snacking and recovery. Mix 1 is a great local company that is offering many great flavor and product choices.

There are new endeavors in the mix for 2011 as well. There is talk of a Cyclocross specific training group and maybe even a team as well.
