The RallySport Aquatics crew had a nice start to the championship season this weekend with a strong showing at the Colorado Girls high School State meets. RACE placed 10 girls in the final two heats of events at the 5A state meet and 5 girls in the finals of the 4A meet.
Best times were thrown down by nearly every swimmer and to those pointing to the suits as the reason, RACE girls swam to higher places than ever before despite nearly every swimmer in the new suits.
Anna Labozan was the RallySport star of the meet, achieving All-American consideration in the 100 and 200 free as well as going under this past seasons cut times for the Short Course Junior and Senior National meets. Sophie Allen also achieved an automatic claification in the 100 back, unrested.
Standout performences also for Hannah Bower (1:07) 100 breast as a freshman and Tara DeMuth who used a two second drop to go 58 in th fly and make the top 8.
This sets the team up very well for a great meet in two weeks at Senior State, three weeks at State and in 3 1/2 weeks at Secitonals.
