So the Haystack Time Trial was today. My first road bike race in 6 years and the first real time trial of my life.
Very windy day and based on the fact that I had no idea what I was doing, I think I have to be good with it. Was 39:00 for the 16.8 mile effort and was 9th in the 35+ cat3. not exactly going to be breaking into the pro ranks, but respectable. I was 2:30 off of Neal Henderson or great coach who showed me a clean set of wheels for sure.
For no TT bike and no disk though I was very happy. Especially since I was able to crank hard on the way to the finish and was stronger on the back half. Gotta keep racing and hopefully I can find a team out there to pick up an old guy like me. I will work. haha
