Accents

Just an observation here.

I was listening to Sirius radio tonight and I came across the Toronto Ratpors basketball game on the radio.

Now there are certain things that sound wrong with a certain accent. Soccer should be called in Spanish or at least in an English accent. An American speaker calling a soccer game is just iffy. Same with Cycling.

As for Basketball, it is the other way around. It should be an American announcer. I heard the Canadian broadcast tonight for the NBA. It was just wrong to hear "out" and "about" in a Canadian accent. Just bizarre. Hockey should be called that way, curling as well. I grew up in Upstate NY watching the CBC and I love that accent. Just not with Basketball, ok? Please?
