Work first...
The boys had the Boulder County meet. It is funny, the girls typically swim very well at their version of this. Best times and everything. The boy's version doesn't go quite as well. It is earlier for in the club season and we typically are doing way more work. Plus boys need a lot more rest than girls do to swim well. That being said, i thought they swam quite well.
Eric and Ben had great 500's going 5:00. Dave Sherrier was solid in his the 100 and the 200 and Alex Bisping was a monster in the breast. I smell a 58 at State.
The girls had their fun too.
On Friday night we played a little game of how many pool records can we break.
The answer was 7. Not bad. The 200 Medley relay of Caroline Patterson, Amanda Sanders, Whitney Dougherty and Anna Labozan went 1;53.11. Whitney and Anna went 4:2 and 2;15 in the IM's to break those records. Hannah was 2;35 in the breast, fair but enough for a pool record. Heather and Abi broke the mile and 1000 records and Kourtney Fosse showed what may be on the horizon for her as she blistered a 1:08 100 breast in workout. She was only a 1:07 at State!
Meanwhile on Sunday four or five of the girls ventured down to Lakewood with me to swim with Missy Franklin, Todd Schmidt and STARs. Always a good day to mix it up with some of the best in the country and I must say, i think we held our own. We are going to do a bit more of that this summer. maybe we can return the favor and get them outsid in the snow next winter.
Cam Dye had a great WCS race down in Mexico on Sunday and was 26th in a stellar field. Eney Jones won everything in sight at Masters Y nationals. Last but not least new to the RallySport pool, Christine Jennings had a great go at the Nike Swim Miami 10k open water race. In a truly international field she was third.
Wew, that's a weekend. I even raced, but I will save that for the next post.
