Cross racing makes me want to vomit

Well I did my second cross race of the year today. I forgot how painful racing is. The focus here over the last 5 or 6 years has been coaching, but when I turned 35 this year I figured I needed to get my butt back in gear. So I lofted the cross bike on the shoulder this year for the first time since 2003 and went headlong in the 35+ age group.

Have I mentioned we live in Boulder the land of the ageless. I lined up today and looked around and thought "I'm the oldest guy here" everybody looks younger than me. 37 degrees, mist and mud...perfect for cross.

Off we went. Dropped the chain here and there and the excitement of the day was when my rear wheel fell out of the drops on the third lap. Had to stop for that too. All in all it was a good race. I got to rep the Without Limits/BMC name and looked alright doing it.

15th. Not bad, but not good enough. I'm coming for you guys.
