Risky Profession

Welcome to the dangers of coaching swimming. I leaned back on a chair today during workout only to be stung by a yellow jacket. Not good considering I am allergic. I got out the epi-pen and put some ice on the sting and hoped that those three years of allergy shots worked. If they didn't a rush trip to the hospital before my throat closes up and I break out in hives.

Well, thanks Dr. Fogerty, the shots worked. No major reaction just a local one. Still not good news though. My hand swelled up and it got to the point where I could no longer make a fist. I hope it goes down by the cross race Saturday. Racing up in the open class with the pros is enough of a challenge. The inability to use my hand might make it pointless. We'll see.

The good news is that the workout went really well. Great job to Heather and Michaela in the D Lane. They tore it up today.
