Day 3

By now you know the routine. A lot of back and forth, a lot of time at the pool. Basically at Sectionals, we eat, sleep and swim and its more swimming than everything else.

Day 3 is the 200 free, the 400 IM and the 800 free relay. This is a tough day because it drags. The meet still lasts nearly 4 hours in the morning and they only swim 3 events total. Many of the kids don't swim. Plus, it is two of the harder races on the docket.

We handled it well though. Seeded in heat 1, because of a year of injury, Nick made the top 8 from the slowest prelims heat of the meet going 1:39.8 and breaking the team record. Anna demolished her circle seeded heat and went 1:39 and then took third in the meet when she broke our team record going 1:38.7. There were best times all around in the 200 free for the rest of the boys and girls. 1:45's and 1;46's for the boys and 1;53's for Siobhan and Lacey and on the relay at night heather popped off a 1;53.

The 400 Im's were money too. Liam and Rin went best times 4;14 and 4;08 and Rin got a second swim. All in all a good day. The relays were both top 8 and we ended the day in 7th, but just 11 points out of 5th.
